Portfolio Manager
Location:
Libertyville, IL.
General Description:
The main purpose of the job is to oversee and administer the current and planned product portfolio marketed by ESD. Activities include monitoring the market situation and trends and aligning the product portfolio and new product
development to meet current and future demands.
Principal Responsibilities:
Coordinate/analyze market research, competitive intelligence, competitive labels and product trends for ESD markets by compiling, consolidating, formatting, and summarizing information, graphs, and presentations.
Recommend and present to ESD management new product requirements and modifications to existing products.
Review new efficacy data with the objective of updating and improving claims on new or existing labels.
Guide product development (projects), business support and regulatory actions to ensure ESDs product portfolio meets current and future market requirements that meet or exceed sales budget and Mid Range Plan expectations.
Keep management informed of project progress and problems, particularly as to needed changes in schedule, resources, or product.
Coordinate with Regulatory on issues related to product registration and documentation.
Assist ESD Business Operations and supply chain management in the identification and implementation of formulation and packaging changes according ISO 9001, including new product launches.
Support supply chain in the manufacturing planning process to ensure consistent product quality and timely delivery.
Assist in the creations of internal and external communications including technical data sheets, updated regulatory label changes, features and benefits, supporting literature and web site enhancements.
Assist in evaluating pricing strategies and creating price lists.
Experience:
Broad knowledge of North American ESD markets for pesticide products including end-user needs for clear definition of new product concepts. Familiarity with Federal and State regulatory requirements.
Robust technical understanding of the science related to pesticidal products.
Good knowledge of product marketing in a regulated environment.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft programs, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required for the creation of Business and Marketing Plans, project plans, and financial analyses (DCFs, ROIs, etc.)
Very strong interpersonal skills (internal/external, senior/junior). Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proven experience in presenting to Sr. Executive level management
Critical Thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Education:
-BA/BS in Life Sciences field; additional degree (e.g. MBA) helpful.
