What is Aveo EZ?

Aveo EZ is a biological seed treatment that contains naturally occurring, root colonizing rhizobacteria that protects plants from root damage caused by nematodes. It is a powerful bio-barrier against nematode attacks and provides early season protection that lasts for months, shielding roots throughout the soil profile.  On soybeans, it is an effective tool against Soybean Cyst Nematode, Reniform nematodes, and Root Knot nematodes.  It is also effective against numerous nematode species that impact corn crops.

Why is Aveo EZ important?

According to the University of Minnesota Extension, soybean cyst nematodes can cause yield loss in soybeans exceeding 30 percent. Aveo EZ provides growers with an early season tool to protect their roots from nematodes, such as the soybean cyst nematode, at all depths in the soil profile. Unlike many chemical treatments, Aveo EZ is mobile and penetrates down into the soil to reach roots not only at the surface, but throughout the soil profile, defending both primary and secondary roots from nematodes. Because soybean cyst nematodes are overcoming the natural resistance of some soybean varieties, Aveo EZ is a valuable addition to an integrated pest management program.

How does Aveo EZ work?

Aveo EZ contains the bacteria, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain PTA 4838. The bacteria colonize plant roots, creating a bio-barrier that prevents nematode penetration of the roots. Aveo EZ can also cause juvenile nematode paralysis.

Aveo EZ is compatible with other beneficial mycorrhizal fungi as well as other seed treatment products. The formula is highly concentrated, resulting in a product that is user-friendly and has a low use rate while providing complete protection. During testing, it was found that the bacteria colonized and shielded the roots from nematode damage through at least 80 days after application.
