Soil Disease for Root and Tuber Vegetables

Due to the steadfast nature of soil diseases, best results will be obtained if a control measure is used prior to disease onset or in the earliest stages of disease development. Soil diseases vary based on crop and can be fungal or bacterial.

Root and Tuber Vegetables are susceptible to the following diseases:

  • Charcoal Rot (Macrophomina phaseolina)
  • Fusarium Dry Rot (Fusarium)
  • Fusarium Wilt (Fusarium)
  • Leak (Pythium)
  • Pink Rot (Phytophthora erythroseptica) (Phytophthora)
  • Rhizoctonia Canker and Black Scurf (Rhizoctonia solani)
  • Verticillium Wilt (Verticillium albo-atrum Reinke & Berthier, Verticillium dahlia)
