Biorational Crop Protection Products
Valent BioSciences specializes in the development and commercialization of biorational products that deliver target-specific, sustainable solutions. In agriculture, VBC helps maximize crop value by offering microbial insecticide solutions that are highly specific and effective against target pests while minimizing risks to beneficials and the environment.
DiPel® is the world’s leading brand biorational insecticide for control of lepidopteran pests. DiPel's active ingredient is VBC’s patented strain of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp.kurstaki, ABTS-351. This powerful strain, combined with our proprietary manufacturing process, delivers a balanced array of four different protein toxins that provide the best broad spectrum caterpillar control without reducing beneficial bee and predator populations.
XenTari® is VBC’s premium Bt insecticide based on the naturally occurring Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. aizawai Strain ABTS-1857. XenTari provides broad spectrum control of lepidopteran pests XenTari’s expresses four different protein toxins including the Cry1C toxin, to which Diamondback Moth and Armyworms are particularly sensitive.
Novodor® is a foliar applied, Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. tenebrionis insecticide specialized for Colorado potato beetle and Elm Leaf beetle control. Novodor can be applied anytime from bloom to harvest due to its highly selective CPB and Elm Leaf beetle toxicity profile. Novodor is also suitable for most organic production systems. Novodor is the selective insecticide of choice for crops that must be managed to the highest level of ecological scrutiny.
LEAP® is the only alternative to copper-based products that provides two-way protection: suppression of plant diseases and control of caterpillar pests that can significantly damage crop foliage, fruit, and plant health, while reducing crop quality and yield.
DiTera® is a biological nematicide based on Myrothecium verrucaria. DiTera is an excellent root health management input for soils with nematode problems. DiTera stimulates new plant growth and suppresses nematode populations by several different modes of action. Plant root growth is enhanced by stimulating beneficial soil microbes and improving the soil’s water holding capacities. Nematode suppression occurs via nematode disorientation and restriction of movement in the soil.
