VectoLex FG

VectoLex FG (formerly CG), is a granular formulation of Bacillus sphaericus 2362 (strain ABTS-1743) for residual control of mosquito larvae. The potency of VectoLex FG is 50 Bs International Toxin Units (Bs ITU) per milligram against Culex quinquefasciatus larvae. VectoLex FG offers extended control of all Culex species and has been found to be effective against the following species:

It is particularly effective in controlling mosquito larvae in waters high in organic matter such as catch basins, animal waste lagoons, and stagnant ponds.

Suggested Rate Range:

General standing water habitats that contain Culex spp.: 5–20 lbs/acre (5.6–22.4 kg/ha)

Waste tires: 20–80 lbs/acre (22.4–89.7 kg/ha)

VectoLex WDG

VectoLex WDG is a water-dispersible granule formulation of Bacillus sphaericus 2362 (strain ABTS-1743) for residual control
of mosquito larvae. The potency of VectoLex WDG is 650 BsInternational Toxin Units (Bs ITU) per milligram against Culex quinquefasciatus larvae. VectoLex WDG offers extended control of all Culex species and has been found to be effective against
the following species:

VectoLex WDG formulation offers the storage stability of a dry product with the application versatility of a liquid spray. Consisting of only Bs (strain ABTS-1743) and food-grade (US EPA list 4) inert ingredients, VectoLex WDG has received approval for application in organic crops and sensitive habitats in various countries around the world. This versatile formulation allows a variety of application modes and uses for mosquito control.

Suggested Rate Range:

(excluding catch basins, storm drains, etc.)
0.5–1.5 lbs/acre (0.6–1.7 kg/ha)

Use higher rates (1.0–1.5 lbs/acre; 1.1–1.7 kg/ha) in areas where extended residual control is necessary, or in habitats having deep water or dense surface cover. Apply uniformly by conventional ground or aerial spray equipment. Reapply as needed every 1–4 weeks.

VectoLex Habitat

Liquid sprays have been demonstrated to work extremely well to treat Culex spp. habitats in “closed” habitats such as catch basins. For your specific catch basin needs, please contact our technical development specialists for further information.

1.0–1.5 lbs/acre (1.1–1.7 kg/ha)

VectoLex WSP

VectoLex WSP ProductVectoLex WSP contains the active ingredient Bacillus sphaericus 2362 (strain ABTS-1743). The potency of VectoLex WSP is 50 Bs International Toxin Units (Bs ITU) per milligram against Culex quinquefasciatus larvae.

VectoLex WSP is a water-soluble pouch containing VectoLex CG. The formulation is ideal for treatment of “closed” habitats such as catch basins/storm drains and other small breeding sites. The pouch is placed directly into the breeding site and is very useful for control of West Nile virus (WNV) vectors in urban and suburban areas. Under typical environmental conditions, VectoLex WSP provides up to 4 weeks of control in catch basins/storm drains.

VectoLex WSPSuggested use rate for “closed” habitats such as catch basins, storm drains, and similar habitats is 1 pouch per unit (e.g., 1 pouch per catch basin). Reapply as needed every 1–4 weeks.

VectoLex WSP HabitatSuggested use rate for “open” habitats is 1 pouch per 50 ft2 (4.6 m2). Reapply as needed every 1–4 weeks.

Developed by Request

The water-soluble pouch concept was developed at the request of mosquito control professionals. With the spread of West Nile virus in the United States beginning in 1999, Valent BioSciences was asked by mosquito abatement programs to develop a formulation that could be easily applied to catch basins for control of mosquito larvae. For this purpose, VBC introduced VectoLex WSP Bacillus sphaericus 2362 (strain ABTS-1743) in 2001. Since then, the popularity of this product launched additional WSPs from other companies for both professional and consumer use.
